Tiny scratches on my FL headlights.

Hi folks I wonder if you can help me out. I have a 2004 FL which I am slowly trying to tidy up. I decided to tackle the foggy headlights. Armed with all of the information I found using the search button I am pretty happy with the results. They are a lot clearer! However I have found that by cleaning them I can now see lots of little tiny scratches in the plastic. They are driving me mad! I've tried my Meguairs Plastx and Meguairs Compound without success. So my question is this ...... where have the scratches come from and is there anyway I can get rid of them?

You'll need to invest in something like this. It seems like you've used a method which is too abrasive. The scratches you've made will need to be machine polished out.
