Just had a look at my tappets.Mearsuring is a fiddly job as my metric feeler gauges only go down to .05 so I was stuck with gaps somewhere between 0.20 and 0.25 etc.Using Imperial feelers and a conversion table helped me arrive at the following figures (from left to right as you look at the engine). Inlet: 0.191,0.203,0.191,0.216,0.203,0.216,0.192,0.165. Exhaust: 0.267,0.304,0.304,0.304,0.304,0.304,0.267,0.267 Limits are 0.15-0.25 and 0.25-0.35 so they are within tolerance but two of the exhaust valve are a little noisy and the 0.165 inlet valve worries me. Any advice?

Just sent for a 25 piece set of metric feeler gauges which using different combinations should give me 0.15 to 0.35 in 0.01 stages.I will need this accuracy to choose the correct valve lifters. Pity I didn't send for it before I put everything back together.
