Hungover today. So for the safety of all other road users, it's best I don't drive.  s:) :) s:)

A sensible man.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Each for their own.

I have tried Autoglym bumper gel, however I still prefer renovo.

Both do a good job, I find renovo gives the roof a better blackened finish and shiny finish.

I think Renovo is for canvas roofs not vinyl [emoji846]

Was talking to my mate how runs his on spray paint shop last night, planning out works I would like carried out to my new car.

During the conversation I asked if I should clay bar the car before handing the car over for painting. This made him laugh and it informed me to throw away my clay bar, as clay bar takes too long.

He told me to get a clay bar towel. He demonstrated on one panel of my car (which is heavily contaminated) and he had the panel contaminate free within less that a minute. This had me very impressed and dipping my hand back into my pocket.

I use this; same thing. I've never gone back to a claybar since.

The only thing I will say for the claybar is that you can see what you take off. Whereas on these mitts/towels, it's hidden in the black "clay".

Works really really well though

Cheers Patrick

You appear to be on the same opinion as my mate.

I think my new car is going to be a good challenge for the clay towel.
I am under the impression that the car has never seen a clay bar, polish or wax.   s:lol:  s:lol:

A few years back, a member had a connection to the " Code " outlet ( Boat cleaning and Polishing material ) So I bought some in - Really good stuff and beats every other product, hands down - I've used it sparingly it puts a layer of protection on the body that " Gleams " !!

I've still got about a 1/4 bottle of Cöde left. I absolutely loved it but it's not exactly long lasting. It is very good for a quick application to get some great gloss out of waxed paint. Also makes it feel nice and slippy  s:) :) s:)

Got to use my new clay towel / cloth at the weekend. I must say, I am very impressed. This is much easier than using a clay bar and I think it worked better than my clay bar. I would advise anyone to try this method. I bought mine from Ebay as per my previous post.

As the car is going to the paint shop for the bonnet to be painted and spats to be fitted. I am thinking of asking them to compound and polish the outstanding panels, as I think know they will do a better job of this than me.

Also thinking of making another Angelwax purchase, Enigma. Hearing great reviews on this new wax, although it will only be the wee pot as my birthday money will not stretch to the £180 for the big pot  s:scared: :scared: s:scared:  .

Need to get this car turned around for Ding Day, 11 sleeps and counting.

Just picked up the G3 Clay Mitt - I take it you have to use it wet, can you just use it with your shampoo bucket?

And presume the order of use is - wash, rinse, clay, rinse, dry, wax?

Not that I have any time to do this before the weekend!   s:( :( s:(

Water is ok but you may find that you "catch" on the paintwork and then you have to whip out the tar remover to remove the mark.

So, lots of soapy water or a cheap detailing spray like Demon Shine. Or spend a fortune on a "clay lube"... I never have.

Wash, rinse, clay, rinse, light dry, polish,  wax.

The polish and seal being optional of course but claying will pretty much always cause small scratches and swirls by its very nature. So, a light polish cleans that up.
