Bought them off Spyderchat https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Espyderchat%2Ecom%2Fforums%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D150903&share_tid=150903&share_fid=3075&share_type=t

FS: New Motor Mounts, Kirkosaurus Inserts, Stock Shifter, TRD Shift Knob, Cubby Lid

Paid 60 dollars for delivery. So 190 USD all in.
They came with the inserts as well so I can choose to go with them or not...

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

So.. Wheels back on. Battery flat though.
Took a while to find a decent earthing point for charging- for reference for others the airbox heatshield works well!

Currently waiting for 10 mins with both on fast idle, then I'll get the front up on ramps so I get the additional height clearance for when I raise the rear...

Victory!
It's up on ramps and the front bumper is off :-) tomorrow afternoon and evening I'll put the new engine on the stand and check it over and then start taking bits off of the old engine/ build the dolly, and start removing bits off the car.

 i am a little bemused.

Why pick the front up??  With the bumper off, you should be fine.

Well....I guess I'd read a few posts of people saying they could "just" clear the subframe when lifting the rear (cant remember the specific poster) so I figured this way I'd have a bit extra space and less stress and chance of damaging things...

Can't believe you're having to sell the supercharger.. :-( I'd totally have that one if I wasn't so invested with the current!

If you're leaving the subframe in, you'll be lifting it a long long way with the front up that high.

Agree with Caroline. I'd advise taking the sub out. Lifting the rear.

I got a set of these many months ago and still haven't used them as I'd anticipated but I'm planning on dropping my engine out on one of them at least, possibly still attached to the subframe.

Who said it should have taken less time?
Life is finite but many tasks don't seem to take that into account. That is the way of things. In my experience a job takes as long as it takes, particularly if you want it right first time.
I guess that you are not paying yourself by the hour, so take your time and enjoy what your doing. You have alternative wheels and I believe the summer is on the way out so where is the deadline?

John, when you've finally reached Oz with it would you mind measuring the lump please? I'm sure it's noted somewhere already but I need to make provisions for where to store my various components when they're out.
I'll be rebuilding the head so that'll be off but need to plan where I'm storing the block.
Cheers!

Yeah, I get your thinking but as previously discussed I think it'll do me and the boy good to rebuild it together through the winter.
And we've only got ourselves to blame then if it blows up![emoji23]
Thanks as always though.

A £45 rebuilt head?

If it sounds too good to be true...
