I had to have a hot bath to try and warm up when I got home.... No idea about you Jon but my body is done...

I would have loved to get it going- but I'm ok with being patient.

Thanks again to Carolyn and Jon for all their input and hard work!

As far as I can tell the following are still to do:
- loom back out and placed over that pipe that's in the way
- suspension wiring back through it and loom back into cab
- final coolant plumbing up top
- coolant bottle secured
- Airbox and intake housing back on-
- edfc on strut towers plugged back in and connections taped back up
- live in fuse box plugged back in
- final check on electrics
- battery tray
- battery and retainer
- coolant put back in
- engine primed
- sparks back in
- engine on?
- brakes bled
- rear lights back in

Below is a novel way to fill up the gearbox fluid... Jack up the back and then pour it in via the little doodad on the back of the gearbox! Waaaay faster...

I've warmed up now.

I've got one thing to add to the list, which is disconnect the live feed from the fuse box first.
I already connected it I'm afraid. [emoji18]

Carolyn

Well, that's not much of a 'to do' list is it?

I do think it was the right thing to stop.  Fatigue was definitely setting in.  And hypothermia!!

My headache is almost gone.  I'll give it a couple of days and do most of that list at my leisure.

Had another quick look at her this morning.  The job looks great.  Especially with the new gaiters and the newly wrapped Zero manifold.

Glad to hear you're beginning to feel better Carolyn!

Yeah kinda of wish I was able to observe more of what Jon was doing with the gaitors so I'd be better equipped to do the other ones myself!

I might be able to pop up on the 24th or the 31st of this month.. will need to check with the wife. Plus I just realized that I have a 1/2 day of leave that I need to take before the end of the month which could be put to trying to get the car back down via an MOT station..

jonbill

I think I've caught the headache today. Yay.

Call the midlife!

I've been like a zombie all day at work too, woke in the early hours and my brain just kept churning over everything I've got to do yet.
Then it was 6.15 and the alarm going off.
Had planned to finish off the timing chain etc this evening too.

Whoa whoa whoa! "Complaining" is a bit strong there! I was "asserting" that I felt like utter rubbish and everything hurt... And I just want to go to bed..

'Complaining' was used strictly in the medical sense!!  As in reporting...

Doubtless we shall all recover. ;)

I reckon you've all overdone it! Slow down and let the body recover, we are not all as young as we used to be.  :(  :). Your all doing a great job.

I agree with Jane.

Patience my not so young padawan.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I assume you're both not referring to me. I'm still very young.

Chilli Girl

Not quite as young as me Jon!  Although Scotte is the young boy here! :). Oh no, sorry Mods, I'm chit chatting again! (:< >:)

Feeling better so:

I sorted out the 'knitting' and got the wiring and hoses sitting as they should.  I also found an extra 10 BHP.

Took the slop out of the throttle cable!  Seriously baggy!

Turned the engine over using a ratchet on the crank, just to check.  All good.

Not a lot left to do.  But I stopped there.

Slop on throttle cable. One of my biggest mr2 hates.
One of the first things I did when I got mine

Awesome! Had no idea about the throttle cable slop!

Carolyn

It's official.

She's running.  No warning lights. Valves as quiet as a mouse.  (Shame about the noisy exhaust ;))

Coolant and brakes to bleed.... Jon will assist with that tomorrow.

Then wheels on, test drive and once-over on the lift to check all is tight.

Damn that's a sweet engine.

The exhaust isn't loud!

Thank you again to you both! I suppose you can pop the cork then since it's running...

We'll pop the cork when she's been round the block and passed inspection.
