Hi all,

I recently got round to fitting some TEIN Superstreet Coilovers and EDFC.

However, it seems that the thread on the top of the front struts is incompatible with the EDFC motors. The thread is physically different. The rears fit just fine!

Has anyone else come across this problem, and if so, how did you resolve it?

Thanks!

Alex.

There is two types of edfc motors ie early type and a later type. Mine had all the same fitment with a black control box. As for the struts again all the same fitment on mine, but there is a early fitment that is different.

Have just got off the phone to TEIN UK, and have discovered that there are 3 different thread sizes for the motors: M10, M12 & M14:  m http://www.tein.co.uk/online_shop/wrench_others.html m

Looks like I need to buy two new motors. Luckily they are only £36.00 each!

If they are new maybe they will exchange them.  Can't hurt to ask

Bought them used from Japan.

To be fair, I bought them as a separate set, not knowing which car they came off. I should have checked, but my Japanese isn't so good these days!

... Stupid question but.. Is it possible to use edfc on no-teins?

Depends on how the bc adjusters fit on the shocks. With tein you unscrew the manual adjusters to fit the edfc motor.

Ah OK. The BCs are M12 and can unscrew.
