I've been trying to find what dampers and springs are fitted to my car, my question is, are all Mk3 cars the same spec?
What do other people use, looking at midrange price, or maybe spending a little extra if the benefits make it worthwile...same old story I guess!

Suspension is the same across all models.
Plenty of info on what is available.
Search function is a useful tool.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Some things to look for are:

KYB shocks, these are like stock but fresher, so firmer and better

Tein or TTE springs; lower the car and particularly the Teins add better compliance

MeisterR coilovers
YellowSpeed coilovers
BC coilovers

That's about it really.

Thanks for the advice: I've been using the search function, same as all forums, it pulls up every single post with "suspension" mentioned.
I've seen Matts Brace mentioned, but thats as far as I've got, it this still available, cannot find it anywhere?

Another handy tip is to use Google  s:) :) s:)

I often search by something like "mr2roc matt brace".

If you want to use Google entirely correctly it's "site:mr2roc.org Matt brace".

The latter will return hits only found within mr2roc.org.

Unfortunately the "Matts Brace" is currently not being made. They sometimes come up 2nd hand though.

Not available anymore, unless yiu find one for sale second hand.

There are others offering similar - I've seen them on eBay but can't find any at present!

Ok, thanks once again. Seems a pity, I've found only good reports of it: I have also found a picture...thats a serious brace!
I'll keep watch for one on the usual sites   s:D :D s:D

The only difference between pre-facelift shocks and facelift ones is the attachment method for the brake lines. AFAIK most coilovers have the early type. I used zip ties until I got some braided lines.

Finally got round to taking the wheels off !
I definately need a OS Front leg, its covered in oil, and there's a knocking noise developing   s:shock:  s:shock:
Do the top strut bearings cause problems? I can't see any play in the TR end or the bottom joint, but somethings not right!
