1zz Oil System

Just read a few things about the improvements Toyota made to the 1zz over the years.

One article said they increased the required oil capacity by 0.5l in mid 2005 (presumably to 4.2l). I wondered if anyone could corroborate this? Does anyone have a late '05/'06 handbook to see what the oil capacity is?

If Toyota did this, I wonder what they changed in the engine eg sump size, to accommodate this, or could we just overfill a bit to achieve the same thing....?

I tend to overfill mine a little - 4 ltr.  no ill effect observed.
