Toyota model no zzw30 r......does anyone know what the r stands for please...or is that just the engine model...if so where will i find the car model...its 2000 with black leather and air con...thought this was a ttr model but no ttr badge..cheers

I did a bit of searching.. almost all results come up in Australia.  All the cars were Japanese imports with SMT gearbox (most cars in OZ are SMT).

My best guess is that the 'R' stands for SMT.

The smt wasnt introduced till 2002 on the 5 speed as far as i can see...but yes the R engine seems popular in Aus..but i still dont know its meaning or the model of mine

There's a couple of 2,000s for sale in OZ.  Possibly introduced earlier in Japan.

The engine is a 1ZZfe  ZZW30 is the car model - so the 'R' is probably a variation on the model, rather than the engine.  What it refers to, I'm not sure.  The Japanese had two models, ZZW30 and ZZW30S.  The 'S' had air and leather and a bit more luxury...
