Im having a couple of issues with my 2ZZ conversion. Apart from the misfire fault codes caused by the stage 2 cams i am also getting the following codes....PO171 running lean bank 1 and PO420 inefficient cat bank 1. I have installed a sports cat and Janspeed exhaust since the conversion but i dont think this would lead to it running lean. Any ideas?

Thanks

Mike

clean your maf and space rear lambda sensor out of stream of gases

Thanks. I've cleaned the maf. Do I just buy a spacer for the O2 sensors? Do I space both or just post cat?

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I've been running a £3 resistor from Maplins to cure P0420 on my 2ZZ. Do a search on here.

The post cat sensor is only there to check cat efficiency, has nothing to do with fuelling. You basically don't need it.

Would that solve the running lean issue aswell?

No. They re separate issues.

I thought as much. However they appeared at the same time, after I changed the cat and exhaust. Is it therefore running lean because it's shifting more air now the exhaust is free flowing? How do I sort this out?

A few things to try are:

Check for exhaust leaks
Clean MAF sensor
Check injector voltages
Replace O2 sensor
