I've decided to do my own brakes! Yay me!
Managed to get stage one of the calliper off... But I cannot the 2 bolts undone to remove the second part?
Facing into the wheel which way should the nut turn?
I've started plusgassing them... But I've been trying with going right hand down ( clockwise) to no avail... s:-( :-( s:-(  is it a reverse thread? Anyone else have this problem?

The bolts have a standard clockwise/right-handed thread. A breaker bar and extention tube is sometimes necessary. Some people have needed to resort to using heat.

Remember you're facing it backwards. So if you're facing the wheel, you need to turn it the other way.
Pretend you're sitting in the car, which way would you turn it?
...neutiquam erro.

Took mine off last weekend and I found that a sharp tap with a hammer on the spanner got them going. I wondered at the time as to whether they had been "loc-tited" in. I think they may have been, but the subtle method worked for me! Good luck. As another thought, if you use a socket set with a reversible ratchet, then set it to undo then you can't get it wrong.

Thanks guys for the reassurance!
Sitting in side the wheel arch facing outwards I'd be going anti clockwise.

I guess my issue is that I've got the first part of the calliper on the side and my normal breaker bar is too long so I'm struggling to get sufficient leverage... Will try again tonight and see how I do!

Are you doing front or rear?  If rear, jack her up higher and put her on stands.  That will give you breaker-bar room.  From your view-point, you should be going clockwise.  I.E. if the breaker-bar is forward of the wheel, you should be going downwards with it.

As usual us lefties get the short straw.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Thanks for all the help folks! I managed to undo it properly - the turning the wheel did the trick!
