Hi, I have new clutch (LUK) fitted about 2 month ago.

My mr2 2000 popping 2nd gear out when its under the load,  and i am having hard time engage the 1st gear when its warmed up.     sometimes its very hard to shake the gear lever in neutral.

What can cause this?    s:scared: :scared: s:scared:

hopefully it may be cables/shaft/bushing badly refitted, seizing and or worn. a bit of disassembly is needed for diagnosis.
can also just be something fouling the engine side of the gear change cables/levers.
other than that , not good.
checked oil level?.
internal gearbox problems not worth fixing as replacements are cheap.

You need to get a peek at the external gear-change mechanism on the gearbox, as B says, there are a couple of bits to remove to get a good look.  Make sure the cables are properly attached to the mechanism (they will have been disturbed when the clutch job was done).  Also lubricate the whole thing and operate it  by directly by hand (one rotates and one slides in and out).
It does sound like an external problem related to the clutch swap, rather than an internal gearbox failure.
If you had the clutch fitted by a professional service, take the car back and ask them to check it out.
