James and his MR2

Hey all, this is my third mr2, in red, following a yellow and a blue one! After selling my hardtop it's a reasonably cheap car, it had a blowing exhaust which I've now fixed with a new manifold gasket, and I've also upgraded the front headlight lamps with osram nightbreaker lasers, together at a further cost of £35. It's been facelifted appearance wise by a previous owner inside and out except the 15" wheels, and the headlights are pfl too. There's also a nice ducktail spoiler and a tte style/roll bar. I'm in the process of buying some lowering springs (that reminds me I need to make the payment) and then I just plan to enjoy it (and avoid temptation of an aftermarket exhaust)
I'm yet to find out if its burning oil or not but fingers crossed!

Quick question on the air filter, does anyone know what make this is? It almost seems too large for the box

I've just spent 3 hours on the car cleaning inside and out, car has 1 wonkey front wing but apart from that its in good nic for a cheap X reg with service history

SORRY FOR THE EYESORE EARS!

Does anyone know what makes this is?

Looking very nice.  You've clearly used a lot of elbow grease today.

That does look mighty fine!
I'm always drawn to topics with 'pic heavy' in the title.
There's a red PFl roadster in my works car park some mornings with some seriously broken paintwork, yours actually looks new in comparison.

Sorry can't help with the filter, is it just a paper one or something fancier?
Do you know what particular duck tail is fitted? I do like the look of it!

Looks great. When I bought my red PFL there was so much wax and other product on it I couldn't really see the blemishes. I plan on going over mine in the same way when I have got it back down to the paint

It looks like you have some facelift interior parts too. Seats look to be from the later model and I can see chrome bling around the tweeters - any other facelift interior bits?

Soft top strap to contain the ears could do with checking

Nice though, VERY nice

air filter looks fine and looks well made, would leave it in if clean other side.
they are a bit fat but the outer bit should be a softer rubber to make a good seal.

Yea the door cards and seats are facelift but I think the dials are pfl because fl had chrome around the dials? Thats the only differences I though. Theres a switch installed for the front fog lights

Im not sure what spoiler is it but could check though the paperwork and see if there is any receipts

Upon checking the paperwork, I think the spoiler may even be a factory option, it looks like the one in an extras book, and there is the factory mudflaps, a/c, hardtop(or was) optional extras on the car too

I didnt know the car was offered with different wheels as an optional extra too! Does anyone actually have these lol

The spoiler is a Toyota part.
GB sports spoiler maybe.
Looks great.
Pray you never need to take the lights out.
Right pain in the behind.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Lowering springs fitted, happy with the looks and defiantly the handling! The shocks are slightly worn though you can tell now

As regards the " ears" half drop the roof, prop it at that position using a book if necessary - then check the rear tunnel you may find a disengaged strap in there! If its there, then check the press studs either end - If they're damaged then either stitch or get a new strap
