Hi and welcome to my readers ride thread, before I get started a little back ground about myself. I'll try not to bore you all too much. I grew up around lots of classic british sports cars, my family had lotus europa's, triumph spitfire's and gt6's and the mg midget. When I passed my test in the late eighties it was all about hot hatches. So my first car was a Ford Fiesta Supersport, I wish I still had that one, I then worked my way through the xr2 mk1 and mk2, Escort xr3i, orion 1.6i ghia. You get the picture, I did however miss out on the corolla gt ae86 and the mk1 mr2 as they were more expensive than the fords at that time. Then of course life takes over, a wife and 2 kids mean a sensible car. Fast forward 25 years and you hit midlife crisis so I decided I wanted (needed) a weekend car, so what do you get well I decided to go down the hot hatch route again, I decided to get a mk2 golf gti as I had always wanted one, unfortunately I found it a little uninspiring so I sold it on. I then rushed into a porsche boxster which turned out to be an expensive error on my part. Basically it was a lemon it needed 2 new cats and the o2 sensors plus it had started leaking oil from the imf bearing so I cut my losses and got rid. At this point I was fed up of cars. A year passed and I still had an itch to scratch,  so what to get well I wanted a soft top so that ruled out the mk1 and mk2 mr2, I did consider the mx5 and mg f/tf for all of 5 seconds lol. Of course it had to be the roadster, but I thought they would be out of my budget, how surprised I was when I checked the classifieds.
So the only decision I needed to make was pfl or fl, I chose pfl for 2 reasons, 1 I think the styling looks more aggressive and I prefer the lights on pfl and 2, I could insure it on classic insurance.

So here is my car, I bought her in may 2016 from sunny Leicester it's a year 2000 on an x plate, it cost me £800 and had full mot and drove well. She was imported from new from Europe which means that it is identical to uk cars mechanically, there are however a few cosmetic differences to uk cars. Which are it is missing the roadster badge on the rear, the leather seats don't have the mr2 roadster embossing in the back rest and it had a single din radio cd player. Also it didn't have the factory alarm under the spare wheel and instead had a clifford concept system. I don't know of any other differences.
This is when I picked her up.

I have done lots of work to her over the last 2 years so i'll keep the updates in the order they occurred.

Tidy looking car for £800. I suspect the picture is representative of a lot of elbow grease! ;)
