Newbie question on axle stands

Having never lifted the car before I want to leave it on two axle stands at the front of the car.

Where would you locate the axle stands? I guess the name gives it away but wanted to check.

Do you put them where you would jack the car up when changing a tire?

Or do they goes elsewhere?

The only info I have is in the pic below.

Oh well, I threw caution to the wind and braced the stands against the bits circled in red.
