Hi I was just wondering if anyone has looked into putting E153 internals in a 1ZZ (C56) Box?

I tried the search but didnt see anything ont the topic...

Cant be done. The S trannies can be made hybrid but i dont think that these can mix and match. Im going to use c59 thats micro polished/cryo treated and will use the MTF oil thats shock something and will hope for the best up to 350 horses :)

Torque kills transmissions not BHP.

If you saw an E153 sat next to a C series box you wouldn't even ask the size alone tells you it's not possible.

I have an S54 mated to my V6 which is proven to hold 2gr levels of torque if you drive it sympathetically. Possibly up 300 ftlb.
S series has better choice of ratios than E153 although not sure if it is possible to mate to 1zz.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

The E153 box is massive, I am beefing up the C series box for my build, will be limiting the torque via engine mapping to keep within the upgraded gearbox's limits as well - with my build the engine power output will be limited by the gearbox. Unsure if I need to be running anymore more than 425bhp on my setup to reach my project goal so won't need the torque capacity of the E153 box.

Also worth noting that the torque will kill the box but also the heat management needs to be taken into account, the stock C series box has no cooler, the E series boxes do, the hotter the gearbox oil gets the thinner it gets until it can no longer keep an oil film on the gears.

Plan for my build is to run a gearbox cooler on the C series box to keep the temps down when I go go full power, although for short bursts it should be ok, its more the prolonged track days that cause the issues.
