Swapping 1zz LSD into celica gearbox

Hi folks, I've got a whining noise from my gearbox after installing the LSD from the 1zz gearbox into the celica gearbox. Any idea why that would be? Someone mentioned shimming? But I thought if it was a factory lsd, it should have been able to just fit in?

I think there's a litttle bit of variability of width of the case and the the lsd itself so you could end up with too much preload on the bearings.
Perhaps also possible that the bearing outer from the box isn't a perfect match for the inner on the lsd; they won't have worn together unless you replaced them as a set.
