Okay so here goes, bit of a shot in the dark but...

Looking for potential diagnostic help.

I recently put a 2zz in my 2, everything is great with that car but as there was nothing wrong with my old engine I thought I'd buy another car with a blown engine and swap in my old 1zz.

Swap went well, started first time with no dash lights etc, but then third day after swap (car had not been driven yet only out the garage and back in to check functionality) it started white smoking out the tail pipe...

It's too much to be vapour, the coolant isn't bubbling and no white under the rocker cover so don't think it's head gasket, all fluids were changed and are corrected amounts. The oil doesn't seem to be going down either.

I don't really want to have to take the engine back out to strip down and find the problem really, so if someone has any insight it would be great but I'm not hopeful at this point  :-\

Thanks in advance to any ideas

Carolyn

Take it for a drive and get the exhaust heated through.

Could just be build up of moisture in the back box.  Idling produces tons of water.

Would it not have smoked from the get go if it was moisture? It ran fine for around 30mins the first day I started it

I did say 'could be'.

Try driving it and see!

If it gets driven and fully warm, even if it's not damp in the muffler, something else will show up.

White =water.  Blue = oil. black = running rich....
