Ok will save up I did some driver training was useful - by the end felt like I was putting the car in the right places it just felt like Id found its limits on my crappy tyres.

AD08Rs are a sort of half way house... harder compound, full tread, work in the wet. Which is ideal for most people. R888s etc are softer compound, come with 5mm ish tread new, so they last half as long, sketchy in the wet etc. But the ultimate grip.
