Mot passed but with advisory about the tint I put on the headlights, so cleaned that off and sprayed the lights again but not on the front so the bulbs are visible.

Pre mot I fitted...
new front discs
Green stuff pads all round
Clean and greased all calipers and reset hand brake.
Replaced snapped bolts on carrier.

Undersealed back end of car(when motivated again will finish the rest)

Changed oil with fuchs and new oil filter.

Time to drive around In the sunshine....

You have put a lot of work into this car fella.
Be nice to get some exterior shots too.

Especially one with the not-so-bling pins installed!!

Ha, well good news is  its looking good so far. The turbo looks fine too, turbine wheel is good and no marks on the insides so it hasn't rubbed when spooling up, so there's no play on that :)
Pictures on this thread will help the installation for the next owner hopefully.

That's all the mechanicals off now, just the wiring, ECU, sump and some tubing left.
Had the oil return pipe stripped and repainted, will do the same for the intercooler pipe, replace some worn bolts and the kit will be ready for a new home.
Im labelling the bits up as they come off so with the above pictures and the installation manual it should be relatively easy to reinstall.

The rubber hose on the right with vsv on it attaches to the nipple on the tte ecu circled, I'd warm the hose up to make it more supple before reattaching as the nipple is only plastic and flexes quite easily.

On the wiring loom that attaches to the tte ecu there's an earth wire it attaches here circled, its behind the seat belt coil mech, which I had to remove to get access.
The plugs remove from the original ecu, the tte loom fits in their place and the original loom plugs into the tte loom.

I've left the loom plugged into to the tte ecu which is obviously fully assembled so that will speed up the reinstall too

The engine bay loom which runs the fan, plugs into the tte ecu, then the blade fuse (orange wire) runs to the right hand terminal of the battery then off to the fan. I've left the grommet on the loom so it's an easy case of removing your grommet and fitting the loom grommet in place rather than trying to fit the large connector through the tiny grommet hole.
The other hole in the grommet is for the vsv rubber hose.

Together with the TTE instruction manual, you are preparing a fool proof DIY kit  ;D

Looks like it will be fún even to mount it  8)

wotugonado

Hopefully it will be easier, the Tte manual is great but a real picture will be of a bigger help I hope. Like the engine and intercooler brackets, there's a few fixing points in the same area, so this will take the guess work out of it.
If you think the installing the kit is fun, driving with the turbo will make you grin from ear to ear..

Imagine in my 900 kilo Kikker ;-)

Got the common sense bone connected to the foot bone though. That grew over time.

wotugonado

170+ bhp in a 900kg car would be immense. I embarrassed plenty of owners and their cars  with it, as its so quick in the first 3 gears, and mine was way heavier than 900kg....
Common sense is a useful attribute with a turbo....

The torgue is more important and goes from 126lb ft to 184lb ft.
Great fun idea indeed.

Quick wrap up on this thread.
Tte kit has finally found a new home. After some long hard dithering, I concluded I couldn't see myself starting all over again with another MR2, So when the opportunity presented itself I obliged and sold it on.

The rolling shell was sold on to a breaker, so hopefully it will keep more roadsters on the road.

There's a few parts/panels and other bits left that I'll sort through and post up in due course.

MR2 ownership has been mostly a blast and on ocasion an ache of my nether regions, so thanks for all the help/laughs along the way.

Is that it? End of MR2 era?
