Carolyn & David's Front strut brace.

This is under development.  We are trying to come up with something with the rigidity of a TRD brace.

It will NOT be a repro TRD one, but one of our own design.  We'll keep the weight down as much as we can, but it really HAS to be steel to work with the available thread length on the top of the struts.

It will be of welded construction.

Like the TRD it WILL interfere with the frunk lid, but we are working on a hinge system.  The lid WILL have to be cut, though.

We're waiting for a quote from the profile cutters, and then we'll make a couple.

THEN we'll come up with a price.

We'll post photos when ready.

This will take a little while.  Patience please.

Interested.
My Cusco has nuts and bolts holding it together much prefer the solid TRD sold with my previous 2.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I'd be keen, although would be sad to cut the frunk Plastic. Is there really no way to do it without removing or cutting?

You can remove it no problem but some people prefer the clean look the plastic cover provide.
You can cut it very neatly have seen it done a few times.

The froot lid is best left off IMHO.

Agreed. It's also conducive of checking you powersteering fluid and universal joint more frequently.

Looking forward to seeing what this brace will be like

'fraid not.  The plastic covers the tops of the threads.  Can always get a spare on from Deano - for very very little.

Nothing 'SAD' about getting your hands on left-hand drive TRD brace.  Can't do better than that!

Interested to see what you do about the hinge! I would like a front strut brace but I don't think I am prepared to cannibalise the frunk compartment lid (just yet!).

Just what I need (want). I can share my moral support and complete lack of technical knowledge!

Never had a frunk lid. I thought most binned them

Done the sums.

We'll make a short run of six.

I don't want to have to forgo club membership by becoming a commercial supplier, so I would need guidance on this

They will be powder coated in steel grey.

I'll post a pic when we've made one.

They'll cost about £120 plus shipping.

Is that still of interest?

Yes it is.

Would you want payment in champagne bottles? Would that circumvent becoming a commercial supplier? ;-)

No yellow option?

I suppose grey will do.

I've had an idea.

Would a £10 donation to the club for each sale help me to retain my membership status?

For any of the GB buys that I have set up over the years, I have always given it least 10% back to the club.
