Im just doing  a service, which fuse covers the coils so I can  stop it firing whilst I pump a bit of oil around before it fires up.

I had thought that was only necessary for a completely "dry" engine ... like from a replacement or such?

I've done two oil services in the last 6 months and didn't remove any fuses when starting up, just started it up and let it idle for a few mins.

It's EF11 in the box to the left of the battery.  The engine and bearings will still be well coated in oil, so it's really not necessary to prevent ignition (as per Househead).

If you really want to get the new oil everywhere before starting, you could pull the plugs and spin it.  It will spin up so much better and be much kinder to the battery and starter motor.
