Draining fuel tank

How do..

I need the change handbrake cables on the sprint car. 

It has 3/4 tank of fuel 

So I needs to drain it out. Easiest way I can see is remove line to engine from hard line and connect hose to fuel cans..
So is there an easier way if not what's easiest way to get the fuel pump to run to empty it for me.

You could take the fuel pump out, and syphon it via the aperture.

Your suggestion ain't bad though.  The pump should run when the car is switched on??  I think...
