You usually have to send them loads of pics mileage mot basically prove that your car is tip top.
Can't remember if I actually went with it on any of my cars or not now but as I didn't claim I dont know if they try to wriggle out of the deal.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I used to get offered agreed value but they dont seem to do that anymore.

I am surprised your renewal has gone up so definitely a good idea to shop around.

I remember getting an agreed value on the Land Rover. Basically had to take photos from every angle, interior and engine, and list the modifications that make it the value you want.

I used Adrian Flux at the time, but there are plenty specialists out there that will do it.

Have you asked Greenlight or Chris Knott?

I think insurance is bound to go up they had to pay out millions and millions on business interruption policys because of COVID.
And pay they're legal bills because they contested it all the way up to the supreme Court.

Paul's car has no performance mods at all. Or suspension mods that I remember. He's added DRL and maybe a few other nice touches but nothing that would put off the big insurers.

At renewal, last September, I posted:

Insurance renewal time again.
Last years premium with non-affiliate insurer: £209.00
Quote from Chris Knott (same declarations/history etc): £355.00

My actual renewal was £168.
(Car lowered, and has TTE exhaust).

168 is good that's roughly what I paid 5-6 years ago when I had a stock 2.

I did have an agreed value on the Audi a year back.. but honestly, they'll find a way around it if they can.
I've adopted the position/attitude that they will not pay up or defend you if they can help it so if they do anything better than that you're pleasantly surprised ( I have yet to be..ever).

puma2

:) well i took the plunge today and got new insurance with the 2 on a agreed value policy
its £20 more than my renewal and they agreed the sum before i took out the policy.

as with all insurance you never no if you are insured even with certificate of any insurance unless they pay out :)
