I am looking at replacing my tyres and will either need 2x 185/55/r15 & 2x 205/50/r15....

... but before I do I am wondering about any advantages of sourcing a set of 16" rears that the face-lift Roadsters had after about 2003 I believe.

My questions are:
a) are there any other changes to the rear suspension setup on facelift cars or did Toyota simply fit the bigger wheels?
b) what is the OEM tyre size on the 16" rear wheels from the factory.

thanks

No real changes to the suspension, and the OEM tire size was 215/45-16.  However, there is no real advantage to going up to 16" in the rear, and some disadvantages as tire selection may be more limited

Welcome.

Some people prefer the lighter 15" wheels over facelift 16".

There was additional underbody bracing on facelift models which some add to pfl cars.

Some info here about tyre choices;
