3rd gear synchro 2zz

My 3rd gear synchro has gone on a c60 6 speed gearbox. Does anyone know of any good tricks to remove the hubs without messing up the alignment, or have any guides.
I did swap the engine so can reverse the procedure to get at the box, just wondering what the best way to do it was?

Usually just bolt off the control arms on the hub side only, swing the hub out, then bolt them bac k. I don't see how that would effect alignment as there's nothing adjustable.
