I intend to mount an amp in one of the rear bins, haven't decided which one yet.

I am using an active crossover Tru Technology F1 link here....  m http://www.trutechnology.com/products/x_over/f1b.htm m

So here's the scene. I intend to mount the amp on to a piece of mdf, probably use the 12 mm piece I have left from creating the door speaker templates. However, the amp being the size it is will sit flat right across the bin, i.e. edge to edge, with the indents of the bin recesses being empty underneath.

I intend to screw a small bracket to the base of this piece of mdf and mount the f1 crossover to the bottom and it will float in beneath and then connect direct to the amplifier directly above. There is likely to be endless hours of tweaking of the crossover and I would be looking to raise the mdf panel from the bin, like a standard bonnet I suppose, up at the front edge, without the need to hold it up manually but use some kind of method to keep it up. (mini gas strut or something)

Any suggestions ?
