Yokohama A048R's

As they use these on the new elise/exige to improve the understeer and give more balenced oversteer, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with them?  Whether or not they were fitted to an MR2.  They come in 195/50R15 and 225/45R16.  Otherwise is their anything else other than the neovas worth looking at.

My cousin had these on his caterham, he swore he would never have them again as;

1) lasted less than 5000 miles (on a 500kg car)

2) gripped so well!! that they were boring

sounds to me that they are very good tyres for a track but a bit over the top for the road, and that they wont last 5 minutes

pays you money and takes your choice but i believe that they are quite expensive, another tyre you may be interested in is the toyo R888, looks very similar.  They can be brought at blackcircles[/url]

Stock new Elises are fitted with AD07s; I'd suggest having a look at those. I'd only consider A032/A048 (or R888) for track - but the AD07s look interesting for road use.

They're a track tyre, they all do that sir.

Not driving it fast enough then.  s:wink: :wink: s:wink:  

Personally I found their grip level to be very good in the dry and absolutely frightening in any degree of wet.  Not for road use IMO.
