Title: Zero twin exit muffler and sports cat
Post by: Ardent on January 14, 2024, 18:23
Not today but sometime over the festive period. I took delivery of a Zero exhausts twin exit muffler, to go with the previously bought Zero sports cat.

No surprise, the quality is top notch. In terms of how the pipes attach to the back box I will say far better than the OEM design of the TTE box. If there is such a thing as metallurgical porn this could be it.

Kevin has made up his own design for the right hand support pipe hanger and also supplies a longer bolt to account for the bracket. Well played.

I have mentioned to to Kevin, he might want to edit his product page as there is no mention of the complete fitting kit that comes as part of the package. 4 new rubber hangers, 2x crush gaskets, donut gasket, bolts and springs, the support bracket and the longer bolt. This makes for good value and a pleasant surprise when you open it. Unless you have prepared for the job in hand and already gone and bought 2x crush gaskets and a donut gasket.

The fitting went extremely well. Decided to do it keyhole style and left the bumper on. Everything just fitted as you would expect. Everything just self aligned.

Very happy.

The cat design has a lower profile than the OEM and sits very neatly in the narrower section of the Subframe.

Respectful.
I tried to record it on the phone but all I got was engine and that was when cold. Waste of time.
Do need to try again once warmed up.
Refined not in yer face. Only time I'm even remotely aware it's there is when lifted off and slowing down.
Does not have that TTE off beat wuffle, but nor does it have the TTE internal plumbing restriction. Flows very nice.

I've been trying to build up my retirement savings. You're not making this any easier!  :o

Does he build them to order each time? I've wondered about having the tips a couple of inches higher and making cutouts in the bottom of the bumper.
