Is it happening mostly under deceleration?

Part of my problem is likely unique to the TTE (dual tip) exhaust I had, but it might be similar to what you're getting: various really noticeable rattles and vibrations mostly decelerating from 2500-2000rpm.

It was eventually traced it to a combination of the exhaust heat shield being loose and a missing exhaust hangar mount, so the hangar was catching on the chassis.

Noticeable at that speed as that's when the exhaust is moving around the most, so it was causing the heat shield to rattle like mad and the hangar to catch the chassis and give the heavier vibrations.

Solutions were:
1) Some steel wool + metal straps around the exhaust heat shield to tighten it until it could be welded.
2) Kept adjusting the angle of the exhaust tip until I found one that minimised the chances of it catching, until the hangar could be replaced and attached properly.

extreme solution, but have you considered a nice fat new exhaust? TTE is aweome, but hard to find.... not sure what is the closest match.... Cobra?

After having to pay some import duties it's finally arrived.

Fitted in about 30 mins.

Shifting is mega crisp and positive,  very well made piece of kit.

Had a bit of an erratic idle, cleaned the IACV and now we have 850rpm! Also fitted a catch can and changed the breather setup to mirror Honda's original intentions. New oil change and filter and a fan switch to manually turn on the fans. Plus a new primary O2! Fitted a lexan rear window too!

Just need to find a MOT station in the South West that is 'friendly' as it's just over on CO and that's the only thing holding it back! Also need to set up the brake bias as I'm getting 90% front (which is scary!).

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WILL BE APPEARING IN THE FOR SALE SECTION SOON! DISCOUNTS FOR EARLY BIRDS THAT HAVE A FRIENDLY MOT MAN 😆

Managed to find a wiring diagram, it's for a LHD car but all wires lead to the body control module. My thinking is that if I had a broken wire in the door bellows then it would also blow a fuse going down as they both use the same two wires to the motor just with the polarity changed. It looks like the BCM has some type of relay in it which I'm hoping is faulty. About £15 to change it so worth a go I think?

cheers

Quote from: Ardent on May 28, 2024, 13:27I swapped in some pfl seats. Bolted in fine. But the existing fl seat belt clip would not engage with pfl buckle.

Edit.
Looking at what needed swapping around. I deemed it too much phaff. The risk of damaging the plastic end caps and the buckle wiring. I gave up and put the original seats back in.

I have pfl seats in an fl car with no problems at all. Everything works as it should

I've also had two sets of fl seats in the car at various points with the same belts and again no problems - as you would expect on an fl car with fl belts, of course, but again, no issues with pfl seats either

Who knows!

I was (slightly) caught out with that too when putting in UK driver side slides at the EU passenger side. Now both sides are adjustable in tilt/hight.
