Guys im in need of a bit of help without using a osiloscope how do you measure the output of an amp in RMS ????
why don't you just divide the peak by root 2
because im not using all the power the gain is veribale ! so therefore the stated Max output is say 200 and the rms is 150 then if im using 25% if the max watts whast the rms?? without using maths im wondering if there is a way to measure it using a mulit meter???
so x =200 and y = 150
y = x/root 2
so if x is now 25% of its original value
new y = 0.25x/root 2
or written another way 0.25 * x/root 2
so if the new peak is 25% of the old peak the new rms will be 25% of the old rms
Yeah But i want the RMS of teh amp ti be no more than 325 so what % do i put the gain??? I though that the only way of doing this was to actually measure the output, not the mathmatical side of it as it wouldnt be as accurate as you can never set teh gains to an ecasct %
Good maths tho Markii s:lol: :lol: s:lol:
