Title: Rubbing feeling through gear stick when in neutral
Post by: MayerT on March 22, 2013, 23:01
I'd just popped out in this lovely weather we're having at the moment, to feel that when the '2 is in neutral, whilst moving the gear stick either side (as if i'm going to select 1st/2nd or 5th), i can feel friction. It's as though the mechanical parts aren't lubricated, and it's rubbing causing the slight resistance when moving the gear stick either way, although i have no problems selecting any gears.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any advice or experiences welcome!

Only move the gearstick if you're actually going to select a gear.

In colder weather oil takes longer to warm up so doesn't lubricate as well when cold.
