Title: Difference between gear sticks!
Post by: andyroo104 on August 23, 2013, 20:05
As per title is there a difference between the stock 5 speed and 6 speed gear stick cages,I know they have different part numbers but have been informed that the 5 speed cage can be used on a 6 speed box.
Thanks Andy.

They are different. Put together with the same constituent parts, but the stick has a different spline position through the ball.

Yes, they're interchangeable, although the difference in construction means that 5 spd levers can struggle to engage reverse on a 6 spd box. Its marginal, and there is a possible fix ..... which is on my list of stuff to try when I eventually get around to it!
