Title: Silence the beeper
Post by: shnazzle on March 7, 2017, 17:04
I had lost my rag with the car binging at me every time I do anything. So this happened:

It's all still there, just muffled.

1) Drop steering wheel down using the adjustment lever on the left of the wheel
2) Pull off the binnacle. It just pulls off, no fuss
3) Undo the 3 screws (top, left bottom and right bottom)

4) Unclip three plugs. Press tab and pull. May need some prying with a small screwdriver

5) Undo the 7 silver screws on the back of the panel

6) Lift the white panel off.

7) Slowly remove the circuit board from the rest. Release one side, and then the other. Pull straight off as to not damage anything.

8 ) Spread blu-tac on the speaker element evenly and about 2mm thick, or less depending on how much muffling you want

9) Use duct-tape to secure the blu tac

10) Replace the circuit board on the main body carefully and STRAIGHT as to not damage any pins/components.
10) Screw it all back together.
