Is there any way of telling if I have bought an original TTE ducktail? It looks the same as the one in here:

I got tired of the car and will start selling parts that I accumulated over the 3 years of ownership, just dont want to rip anybody off.

Thank you for that link; it must be one of my favorite threads on the forum :-)
Am sorry to read your disapontment btw.
If you posted a picture of the fitting side here, people with them may recognise them?
I am guessing that aftermarket copies would not have all the fixings referred to on that thread?
PS. Also sorry to hear that you are selling up after all the time gathering bits for the car.
The picture you posted is toyota sports spoiler I think. Tte is the banana spoiler.
Well out of 3 years I drove it like 30 times in total. Been broken most of the time. Once I am back home will make coupe of pics but it has 2 bolts each side and the same shape like the one in the post above.

I understand where you are coming from.

The car is quite stock, just catless pipe because the original cat fell off. Cant fix it to a drivable condition and now I dont feel like touching it. Will keep it for a month more maybe my will to work on it will return.
To solve the confusion about the ducktail, it has toyota stamp on it, its just covered in thick paint and I didnt see it. It has toyota logo and some part numbers on the right side.
Hi Nvy,
I am interested in the ducktail. You can PM me for details.

This is not for sale thread. Still thinking if should sell it or not.
No problem, sounded like you want to get rid of it all.
Just in case...

The conundrum.
I find it hilárious.
Nvy:
Yes, if is stamped like this underneath it should be a genuine TTE.

Yeah. 😂😂
Why they felt the need for the bonding is beyond me. It has sooooo many fixings.

Take out the rear light unit to change a bulb.
Take the duckthing off to take out the light unit.
Take off the rear bumper skirt to take the duckthing off.
Remove rear light units to remove bumper skirt.
When you decide oblige something a bit you find it´s glued stuck.
But... my light bulb??!!
