Following my 6x9's at the rear i would like to change my front speakers and i would like to ask a few questions.

1. How do you remove door pannel to get an access to the speakers? (my car is 00 reg if thats make any difference?)

2. what size would i need?

3. I want them to be on show ( i.e. not to have that standard black plastic cover) is that possible? If anyone done that can i see some pics please.

Thank you

The "how to " on spyderchat worked a treat for me.
Phil those Infinitys are excellent, put some in my son's car. Crystal clear, sound just as good as my K series Focals in my 2.
No Roadster any more, Golf 7.5 GTi Performance

Stu, sorry to be picky, are those Rainbows the same ones you have?

The tweeter is inside, not separate. How did you do it exactly?

i've not got any, my kit was in for 6 months before i found out about them. All i can say is go listen to some they are really excellent, wish i did have some. BTW dont go for they're top of the range speaker, 1 speaker £7K!!

as far as speakers with the tweeter attached as well, its just an extension of the magnet in the middle creating a post for it to sit on. My bazooka's were bought like it.

Surely you can cut the plastic grill off, even if it's not detachable.  s8) 8) s8)

Then maybe cover the cut edge with a rubber...thing...whatever they are called in UK.  s:lol:  s:lol:  Don't have pics online about what I mean.
(haven't cut my speakers, but other plastics)
Sure you can live without 500hp, but it\'s languishing.

OK, Phil and you guys out there, my ICE knowledge is zilch, so...

Firstly, because of the extra power required to support these babies do I HAVE to add an amp? Definitely not buying a Sub! Or do you think its a case of suck it and see?

If I do, is a 2 channel adequate for the 2 main + 2 tweeter speakers, or does each speaker need a channel? And if somebody can give me a quick rundown / lesson on external cross-overs, I will be eternally grateful.

They have individual crossovers so you only need a single left and a right feed for them.

You dont need an amp but they will be ready when/if you decide to get one.

Quote from: "philster_d"You dont need an amp

While that's 100% true, I'd say get one. The difference between running Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1's through stock radio or amp was huge, more than I ever thought, even on low sound levels. They just sound tons better with a good amp.

Thanks Phil & Tem. I've already broken one promise to Alison about buying the speakers   s:oops:  s:oops:  , so maybe the amp can wait   s:wink:  s:wink:

Once we are both all up and running it will be good to hear first hand the difference with or without the amp. as you can guess at our age volume and bass isn't everything!
