Gonna upgrade the shite speakers in the car shortly, already got a decent headunit, it's a kenwood kdc-bt8044u, love that thing.

Plan is for now to just upgrade the wiring and front speakers, then further down the line fill the rear bins with an amp/sub.

Looking at all the other threads on the forum just wondering if anyone knows if this stuff will fit?

m http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/vauxhal ... ptors.html m  - They look to be the same thing as the MDF spacers everyone makes.

 m http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/infinit ... 530cs.html m  - Looking at these for the speakers or my budget choice, though they'll probably be crap -  m http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/alpine-sxe-1750s.html m

anyone used any of these speakers/ that adaptor before?  The only reason I'm looking at those speakers is because they look to be quite a slim profile, any other one's fit better?

I recently upgraded the speakers in my car, have an Alpine 9850 head unit and after listening to Focals, Infinity and Alpine in the £90-£120 price band, chose the Alpine SPG-17CS.  They work extremely well straight off the head unit whereas both the focals and the infinity range in my opinion definitely need further amplification due to their stiffer woofer cones.  Having said that, listened to a set of Focals at about £250 (can't remember the model number) connected via an Alpine 2 channel amp and they sounded superb.  Still, for the £90 I paid for the Alpines, I am very pleased with the sound and believe that these represent the best VFM upgrade right now.

I upgraded my speakers for in phase xt6 components cost about £70 and run them through an upgraded headunit, very pleased with them, but didn't create a lot of bass and what bass it did create used to rattle the door cards like a bastard no matter how much sound deadening was used. So I added an alpine active sub in the rear luggage compartment and now happily have a very balanced set up with no rattles  s:D :D s:D  .

I have Infinity Kappa 65.7. In theory they are a £200 piece of kit, but still available for £100 or less. IMO good.

With those spacers you will take your chance on them fitting exactly, unless somebody can confirm. I suggest its either MDF or cannibalising your old speakers to keep the plastic outers.
