scratch on windscreen

I have a scratch on my windscreen. It's been there since I have had the car and it looks like the wiper arm has moved over the screen without a wiper attached and scratched the screen. Has anyone had any success polishing out glass scratches? If so what did you use?

Depends on how deep it is, the old fashioned was was to use jewellers rouge - thats iron oxide,
