Out of curiosity,  what colour goes on the v5 and insurance of one of those flip paint cars like some honda jazz got and mini coopers

I would imagine the colour the car is most of the time.

Yeah but its flip paint. Purple blue green red yellow etc etc it depends which way u look at it to what colour it is?

When I check with my new insurer (that allows mods) I specifically asked about Vinyl wrapping and was told that it is viewed as a higher risk. I asked about a conventional paint colour change and was told that there would be no extra charge (but I guess that answer would need to respect any change in value). I remarked that a fix for any vandalism would probably be cheaper for a wrapped car but the reply was that they are noticing a higher incidence of damage. Kind of put me off Vinyl but then a nice paint job is probably better anyway.
