I'm imagining some time this week if all goes well. Then it will be on my (new, finally!!) drive jacked up and probably spend a while sitting there while I do everything else haha

Get your finger out richards summer is almost over.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Not me the time taken to get this build completed has put me right off.
If i was that bothered would either save the pennies and go to Rogue or have a word with headcase.

Car is finished and back with Josh who i think is now on Holiday.
Couple of things need sorting i believe although they maybe nothing to do with the swap.
Sure Josh will tell us the score when he can.

I believe that the car went away around the 17th Feb and came back around the end of August.
Not nice to be without your car for the whole summer.

Back from holiday!!!

Deposit sent for donor car to be bought and stripped 4th September 15. Car planned to be sent up end of October/November 15.
Space at Woodsport to be sent up on the 17th of February 16.
Delivered back to me on the 26th of August 16.
A long wait for the car, a few days off of a year from sending my deposit over.

Copy and pasted from when I first drove it.

"Start up noise is quite nice, a little loud but quietens down once the engine is warm.
Driving along slowly in low revs isn't bad, definitely not a bad town car.
Driving at 70 can be a little droney to be honest but that's boring anyway.

Put your foot down, the engine comes into a frenzy bellowing out for everyone and their uncle to hear. The first time I went under a bridge and gave a little rev made the wait and the little problems completely worth it! The sound is phenomenal!

Was waiting at the lights, accelerated briskly and the wheels spun, wiggled about and I think I may have got whiplash from shifting into second gear. Maybe I've been away from MR2s for too long, but after a recent Spa trip which I was driving an SQ5 to Belgium with a 0-60 of under 5 seconds, felt no where near as powerful. (Even though it was much more!) I'm going to need some bigger tyres to help put the initial acceleration down, but it feels the perfect amount of power. not too much that it becomes an effort to drive and ruins the fun, but quick enough that I'm worried i could get myself in trouble with it.

My temperature gauge slowly creeps to normal temp as it should, but then sky rockets in seconds to the full and fluctuates depending on throttle position and whether I'm going up for down a hill, think it's just a faulty switch because fans kick in as the should, no coolant loss and engine isn't over heating."

So I'm really happy with the power output. It's controllable but also got that instant torque unlike a turbo so it picks up a bit quicker.

Current problems, still draining the battery, haven't a clue why. Need to buy a multimeter (or borrow one, hint hint) and do a couple of checks.

Water temperature gauge still thinks its in the Sahara desert. Waiting for a new coolant switch to see if that makes a difference as there are no coolant leaks and the engine never seems stupidly hot.

Also appears to be a small bit of blue exhaust gas once left idling for a bit and then revved. Doesn't seem to show blue smoke after that initial rev. Not sure whether this is normal and the 1mz is meant to burn a bit of oil on idle. Will keep an eye out of oil levels.

Granted, I haven't had a geo since fitting new coilovers and I have AD08Rs on, so not the best damp whether tyre, but last time I drove it, I was lighting up the rears in third   s:lol:  s:lol:  at which point I knew I had enough power haha.
