I don't mind spending the extra- It just needs to be reliable. If it's going to keep munching them regardless then it's out. If the controller fixes it then it's a good contender.
It budget isn't a massive factor, go for Link. It's a few hundred extra but you know it'll be supported everywhere and well proven

Any recommendations on which one? Gt4 play sell the monsoon, and I can get the wiring harness premade from midship. That very much steers me in that direction...

Monsoon is the least you can get away with from memory.

There's one below, but I discounted when we did Helen's. Don't remember why but Monsoon was the cheapest option.
I was recommended the Storm. I think because of the number of inputs.

Interesting... basically I'm leaning towards products with premade harnesses. This may or may not be a good idea as it ties you to whatever there are available and not the latest and best ecu.

Most outfits can make plug/play harnesses. The Toyota plugs are not exactly hard to find.

There are already "universal harnesses" for most ecus. All they need is a plug/plugs to pin in on the other side.

For future reference: https://www.ropeyracing.com/mr2-parts/2020/2/20/1elesacvp2xuxwmvvltzqawzafr0jp-7pwp9

Should solve issue of where to mount coolers- will find some suitable fans to draw air through.

Will be starting off with a cheap set to practice with and if it works well I'll spend more money on a decent set

Call the midlife!

Are you taking the orange lens covers off and adding chrome bulbs?
60% of the time it works everytime...

I've taken the orange lens off- I'm tempted to put in a fog light or completely seal it off and blend it in as the led unit contains the indicator bulb as well.
I'm deciding which mounting kit to try and use- as the idea is establish that base very well and then later on splash out on some Uber led sets.

Maybe some drl? Or does the new unit work in that way too?

Could do but yeah I think the unit has them built in too.

@jvanzyl I recall a previous post of yours going down this route.
Open light design. Liked that one, like this.

This is the beauty of my glacial progress. Maximum threadage.

So I've ordered my turbo manifold from the Danish bunch- will put a review up after/if it gets here as the cost is significantly less than going down the cast route (it's £108 delivered! 😂) so I think I can go through 3 of these at least before meeting the cost of the turbokits version.

Next up on the list is the charge cooler kit.. I'm liking the barrel type, so it's becoming a decision on what size to put up front. I know I need to replace the standard radiator anyway as its coming of age, so I'm trying to find what I can get to do both in terms of space...

Call the midlife!

You can certainly get pretty much the same kit in the UK for around the same price, have you looked at AVT?
But as Carolynne says you can build a similar setup for less, potentially with preloved parts.

Pre loved stuff would be nice... I do occasionally try searching for stuff but not found anything suitable yet.

AVT as in these guys?

😄  I do like the little bracket they make to hold the pump..

So eBay special barrel

So that's £86.. Then I need a decent pump.. What's that Bosch one @1979scotte keeps mentioning?

Call the midlife!

Yup, those guys, have a good look at the ebay ones though as they're made with different cores to the AVT ones. Can't say whether they're  good or bad for the money.

Call the midlife!

There's £3 p&p on that plug, have a look at Brands Hatch Performance and see what they have to help.
