Had top cover help

Hi Guys,

Can anyone help with what seems something so straightforward it's embarrassing to ask. But for the life of me I cannot work out how to put the cover on my hard top, whichever way i've tried the Velcro doesn't come near enough to join. The attached picture is the closest so far (:< >

Any guidance would be most welcome.
