Saw this online and really appreciate the effort this guy has gone to.

I would have probably used a parts washer and a media blaster but inspired to do this on my 2zz build. Or I may just drop it into the powder coaters  :D :-[

Good to watch, 100 percent I would scratch it first time letting the screwdriver slip refitting the cable guides!

Can't really knock an engine that is so similar to ours ;)

An engine is not unlike a house in respect of what makes a house more desirable-
Location, location, location.

Not gassing out makes me wonder how long it will last?
Had mine powder coated, but may try ceramic coating on next one as temps up 1200 degrees.
Seen an engine ceramic coated looked cool.

Love the carbon effect? How was that done? Is that real carbon fibre over the plastic cover?

Yeah raven blasting does not really cover or explain what Car and his dad can do,  tig, mig alloy steel stainless alloy wheel repairs, ceramic coating , hydro dipping, powder coating etc.
My favorite is shot blasting, odd time i go in the booth, in my shorts, love the violence and dust, just another colour to me,  coal dust. ;) :)

What's the best paint to use? I have a lotus cover and would like to paint the lettering and logo white

I've refurbed a few rocker covers in my time.
I have three spare 2zz covers that I could refurb and sell on an exchange basis if anyone is interested.
