Had a stroke of inspiration (or madness?) and want to put a livery on The Dodo.
Now there have been plenty of widebody liveries on SuperGT Japanese touring cars like the Orange Autobacs car, yellow wedsport and silver/purple reckless examples; not many about for a narrow body MR2.

The only one I could find is the Japanese TTE turbo press/promo car featuring:
- Side vent gradient with sponsors
- Bespoke logo "MR-S turbo tuned by TTE"
- TTE pinstriping on the front wing above indicator (it actually has a tiny TTE logo at the very tip of the stripe)

Would this look over the top on my car? Not sure how I feel about this.
If I do go about it, I'll lose the sponsors and put the special logo on the side gradient with the "S" in MR-S replaced with a 2.

Anybody have examples to share of well executed/subtle decals/liveries for a narrow body MR2?

Incidentally, that car featured on an episode of Hot Version (Japanese motoring series).

Nice to see a TTE turbo used in anger.

Not sure about over the top.
But, I do think it would spoil it.

You known what I think but it's your car do what you want with it.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

I quite like it but I like a bit of bling or just a bit of something :) mine perhaps does look tacky and not as well done but I like it and i've had no complaints from my co-driver :)

Say it with love, say it with flowers but never, never, say it in writing.

The idea is to die young as late as possible :)

I have always liked the white strip working from the side vent forward like on Danny DC2's Mr2. IIRC Toyota Motorsport Gmbh did something similar to a one off wide body mr2? Maybe just the outline or a similar colour to the factory paint so it looks slightly ghosted could work?

I think the pinstriping would be a step too far, but the logo just looks so well designed to mine eyes.

Mixed response from ambivalence to dislike.
Conclusion drawn: decals are falling out of style.

A Porsche The Dodo isn't, but I do like the idea of having what the car is printed on the side.

Will see what other inspired designs pop-up here before making a decision.

They don't somehow strike me as the chatty type.

There was a guy at Hatton with stripe down the side. Hopefully he doesn't mind me posting it.

I am not fond of this type of thing myself. A logo is less controversial though. If it is a removable vinyl decal, it is not going to do any damage and easily put back to stock when needed.

As said though, it's your car so do what makes you happy!

Thing with decals is that they are basically ´custom´ or at max ´special edition´ mmeaning that it has always been off the middle of the road.

Another thing is that when done restrained it is neither meat nor fish.
If you want subtle than oddly enough stick to bling; small sized chrome/gold.

With decals you can have any design you like made and go big or go home. ´Tasteful´ is not on imo. It is véry quicky wannabee if you don´t commit to yoúr style.
