My offside cable has seized .....I need to replace this before an MOT retest

I know that genuine Toyota oem cables are the very best and the advisable option

BUT really struggling to get hold of one in the timescale (TCB as eg are out of stock)

So has anyone used any alternative aftermarket handbrake cables with any success?

ps I never use the handbrake for 99.999% of the year ....the car is always left in gear whenever I park (maybe the reason the existing cable is now kaput)
stock 2001 Dark Green MR-S (6R4)
stock 2004 Black - repurchased from guy who bought yellow 'un

 :))  :))  :))  :))  ;)

It is mosture, road salt x passing of time and not using may cause it to oxidise stuck yes.
Using it a lot may make the cables stretch. Pick your choice.

Whishing you success, good luck and other positives with the crappy chore.

Might as well do the pair of them while the tank is lowered.

Yes, I've had blueprint cables since 2016/17 with zero issues.

I've recently used Borg & Beck cables from Arnold Clarke. Please note there is a difference in PFL & FL.

Just enter the B&B part number into the below site.

Thanks for that @JB21  8)

I did actually go ahead + order from that very site yesterday am

Borg + Beck are not a 'fly by night' co. ....I would hope and expect their cables are 1/2 reasonable at worst
