Short Shift, how to identify manufacturer?

I've been driving around in "Friday" a lot recently, one thing I've noticed since I first test drove the car before buying was that the shifting feel is REALLY positive. No second guessing which gear I'm in, each gear goes in decisively and has no play whatsoever.

I am presuming this is an upgrade as "Dodo" doesn't feel like this to drive. It just feels a little ponderous like every other MR2 roadster I've ever driven.

@s12vea says it's probably a short shifter in "Friday", but how do I know if I have an ebay one or TRD one?
I've looked everywhere online for TRD short shifter images and the cage/shifter shaft looks basically stock.
There aren't any badges or lettering identifying a TRD short shifter from any other type.

Any ideas folks?
Best regards,
Arthur

The fact that it looks very similar to the stock one but has a shorter throw is an indicator that it is TRD. When you put them side-by-side you can see the difference in proportions.

It takes a lot of tooling and expense to set up to make such an item, which is hardly likely with an Ebay knock-off.

Anyway, found a photo of one with the box it came in:

It's also the feeling given by the solid mounts and bushes of course.

It could also be a "chopped" short shifter like I had.
The way jaworjawor did it in his thread; chop, rethread and knock the ball down the shaft (tee-hee) a bit further.
It'd be obvious as you could see the chop and rethread probably.

Otherwise, TRD for sure because the eBay ones sit wonky and feel a bit crap.
...neutiquam erro.

I just searched for the part number on the box and it does come up as TRD short shifter.  Interestingly there appears to be one for sale from a Toyota dealership in the states for $144!!

In case anyone wants to see if it's for real:

I believe that's a link to a 5-speed TRD shifter.

My ebay one has a straight shaft as I imagine all the cheap ones will as that it a lot easier to make.

This can maybe be some help to identify the shifter.

Does anyone know if the ZZT31 (7th Gen Celica) gear cages are interchangeable with the ZZW30 MR2?
