Title: 2004 Rear speakers
Post by: Silverbell on December 10, 2019, 13:09
Ive got a 2004 Red Edition which is in very original condition.

Whilst stuck in traffic after another M5 incident, I started fiddling with some of the knobs on the radio. There is an option to adjust the sound between front and rear speakers but I dont have any rear speakers :(

Did these come as an option, where would they have been fitted and is the wiring already in place?

No rear speakers in our cars, even as an option. Head unit however is commonly used in other Toyotas where it is actually worth having rear speakers.

Some folk do retrofit speakers in the luggage compartment doors though, can't speak for the wiring but if the head unit has the fade capacity then it should be straightforward enough.

I think in the manual when referencing the standard head unit it actually advises to have the fader set to front only
