Aerial isn't going up and down?

Hey, ive been having problems with my aerial since i bought the car. Its been staying up all the while with and without the stereo on. The stereo is standard sony. I didnt realise it was meant to move until a mate said there should be a motor in that! lol So can anyone give me any idea's in how to get this lil thing to start moving again please? Does the motor make a noise near the aerial when you turn the radio on?

No, there's been nothing, no movement, no noise....not even a squeak! lol

It could really be anything, from not being plugged into the radio, through all the electrics, fuses etc, to the shaft itself. Unfortunately I'm not sure if there is a quick fix.

Check the easy stuff like fuses first and maybe the connection to the back of the stereo as if you use a torch you can see these.

also you can check to see if you have got a live going into the control box for the aerial. this is located underneath the bin behind the drivers seat.
