Aftermarket ariel?

Ok guys im looking to get a different ariel, as with it going up and down all the time, im concerned about it breaking.....touch wood it wont, but is there any other replacement that isnt motorised? like on the S2000?

i thought this might happen and before i clicked on this, i did a search, what i typed in the search engine were as followed ''ariel'' ''after market ariel'' and stupidly ''different ariel'' and all that came up were problems people were having with there own ariel's were the motor's had broken, ill always do a search before starting a topic off, but with my lack of knowledge on 2's i didnt no what else to type into the search and anything that i type into google just comes up with an irellivant topic...PLEASE help!

Since you can buy a new antenna from eBay that will sort a broken nylon gear for less than £20 I wonder why you would want to do the same amount of work to fit a shorter antenna that will give poorer reception.

You probably didn't find anything seeing as you spelt aerial wrong.

If in doubt use a word you can spell.

even though i did spell aerial wrong, you still knew what i ment  s;) ;) s;)  LOL but very fair point no wonder i didnt find anything, back school i go me thinks LOL.... ahhh bee sting!! thats the ticket!!!!! couldnt remember the name!

Or you could try searching for antenna. 8 pages of results and lots of ideas.

That wont fit a standard MR2. The Spiderchat one fitted into an aftermarket antenna base.

Ahh but I was doing a search for 'Takuban kits' as he used to sell them.

I have to agree though, a little searching works wonders. You have to wonder about those who cant be bothered.

Just always bear in mind that a small aerial means no radio! If you dont want to hear the radio, just fill the hole and paint it

Omg guys I'm asking for help not a debate on who knows how to use the search engine better , Jesus forget it , thought this site was for helping each other not moaning about spyder search , yes I tried searching for antenna and ariel , kind of hard when you don't have a clue what to search for ..

Seems to me that you asked a question, we suggested where to look, you looked but didnt read so asked another question and we suggested where to look etc etc etc.

Short of doing all the search work on your behalf, not knowing what you really wanted, you can hardly blame us for pointing you in the right direction.

Probably best to replace the antenna with a stock Toyota one, and be done with it.

At least 3 people have already helped you with what you have requested and given you threads that explain what different people have done and link to where you can get a short antenna that will fit from or a kit to use another type of non-electronic aerial.
