Taking out the Toyota unit and fitting an aftermarket double din, nothing too fancy, probably a Kenwood or jvc (something that plays mp3+usb input)

JVC is ISO PC2-17-4

eBay a lot cheaper than halfrauds etc, also need facia adapters to hide the gap either either side as stock unit is wider.

You just want the "Toyota to ISO" lead (above), then the correct "ISO to headunit" lead should be provided with whatever you purchase so the one you're buying isn't a specific one for JVC etc. as suggested above. Get the one above or check eBay to save a few pence.

But yeah you need another bit to remove the gap around it.

I'm no expert by any means in this area, but buy the new unit first and see what plug it comes with. It may simply fit the existing one in the car.
(From personal experience with an old BMW and a brand new head unit. In fact I had to remove two adaptor cables to find the original).
Ex.MR2 SMT sadly missed.
